BGE Celebrates Earth Day in the Community

April 22nd marks the 42nd Annual Earth Day celebration, where across the globe, various activities and events will take place to build environmental awareness and inspire individuals to make changes in their behavior to better preserve and protect our planet.
 
As  Earth Day weekend approaches, BGE is gearing  up to participate in  several  local events, where representatives will speak to customersEarth Day Event.jpg about Energy Efficiency, Conservation, Energy Choice, BGE’s Smart Energy Savers Program and more.  Throughout the month, we’ve been meeting with customers and sharing information about our services and our responsibility to the environment. From our use of alternative fuel vehicles and recycling equipment and office products to our development of energy efficient programs and literature to help customers save energy, BGE is committed to being an environmental steward – every day of the year. 
 
While BGE’s environmental efforts and programs are recognized by industry leaders such as ENERGY STAR, we also take the time to commend our employees with our own Environmental Achievement Awards for their dedication to environmental sustainability. To show just how dedicated our employees are to this cause, just this week, BGE employees participated in an Eco-Challenge – a friendly team-based competition where more than 500 participants challenged and encouraged each other to reduce energy consumption and waste.
 
While Earth Day is a great occasion to recognize ways to reduce energy, we encourage employees and customers to find ways to conserve and practice energy efficiency every day and remember BGE provides energy saving tips and programs that can help.

As times still continue to be rough for people and businesses, Im for one glad you haven't abandoned your community programs. I would like to see you guys take payments and handle actual account issues at your tables from time to time. Any chance of that happening at least on occassion?

Community & Environmental Responsibility is a core value of BGE. Many of our employees live in the very communities and neighborhoods we serve. At this time, we are unable to process payments while we are at a community event. The best way to speak to someone about an account or billing issue is to contact our call center.
