When we first introduced the Smart Energy Fair concept nearly a year ago, we did so with the intention that this event would be more about getting to know our customers than it was to simply pass along information.
Last week, hundreds of customers attended our Smart Energy Fair, which was held at Arundel Mills Mall in Anne Arundel County. Many customers, who initially came to do some tax-free back-to-school shopping, stopped by the fair to talk with us about everything from Smart Energy Savers Programs and smart meters to alternative fuel vehicles and Energy Assistance.
As customers came by with their questions and interest, we were able to answer questions and provide educational material. We even provided children with backpacks to help them get started with this upcoming school year and at the same time promote our
E-Smart online education tools, which provide lesson plans, interactive games and energy safety tips for teachers, parents and students.
BGE remains committed to
building relationships with our customers. While we send communications to customers regularly, our community outreach efforts provides a face-to face experience that allows us to get a better understanding of the concerns of our community so that we can enhance the service we provide to our customers. It’s also a good opportunity for customers to meet a few members of the BGE team from customer service personnel to linemen – many of whom live in the very communities we serve.
