Blog - BGE Supports Young Minds and Future Leaders

darla.jpgBGE recognizes the importance of education and excellence in the learning place.  Whether mentoring young students, hosting safety workshops for teens, or helping to lead dozens of interns down their chosen career path, we take great pride in working with many of today’s youth to help prepare them for the workplace. Our goal remains the same every year as we work with students and local schools - to empower through education, active participation and leadership development.

Throughout the school year, many of our employees serve as mentors and volunteers at local schools to provide tutoring, homework assistance and to develop healthy study habits.415.jpg Employees also provide career development assistance to older students, such as helping to conduct mock interviews that help prepare them with the job-application process.

BGE_Event_17.jpgDuring the summer, BGE employs college interns across the organization to help them develop skills and experiences such as project coordination, teamwork and various proficiencies  related to their career interests. As employees and leaders take the time to provide guidance and real work experience, we realize that these students are potentially future employees, perhaps even future leaders of BGE or other companies. While challenging students to strive for their best and giving them an opportunity to discover their passion, we want them to be prepared for the challenges of the work environment, no matter where they begin their careers.  Knowledge, broad skill-sets, work experience, networking opportunities, mentorships and internships can help throughout their lives.

Wishing you a successful school year.
