Neighbor ComparisonTrack and compare your usage with up to 100 other homes of similar size and characteristics in your area. This comparison helps you to evaluate your home’s energy usage and determine if there is an opportunity to improve your home’s performance.
If you have a smart meter installed at your home, this comparison information is available under My Account on the View My Usage page.
There's More to ViewYou can change the view by selecting the links and drop down tab above the graph. You can view your energy usage over time compared to your neighbors by selecting Neighbors. Track just your usage by month, billing period or even down to the day by selecting Energy Use and clicking onto the graph. See how much you're spending each month by selecting Costs. The weather trends throughout the year will always be shown over the graph to show you how changing weather affects your usage and energy costs.
Be AlertedGet notified when your usage is trending higher than usual. Available to customers with smart meters, the High Usage Alert compares your usage to the same month last year and can provide an early warning when your bill is trending higher. You can also set a bill threshold* to alert you when your bill is projected to be higher than a specific amount each month. Take steps now to reduce your energy usage and prevent surprises when your bill arrives.
Signing Up Is EasyJust head to the My Alerts & Notifications page in the My Profile section of your online account. High Usage Alerts are found under the Usage category. You can be alerted by email, text** or phone – or all three.
*You must have 12 months of billing data to receive High Usage Alerts. Bill threshold option is not available for Budget Billing customers and those who have chosen an energy supplier other than BGE.
**If you’d like to receive text messages, you must opt-in and provide your cell phone number. You may cancel your alert subscription at any time by texting STOP to 94230. If you no longer want to receive a text message about BGE programs, you can choose to respond to these text messages by replying "STOP". However, this text command will unsubscribe you from all BGE text messages.
