What happens once my resume is submitted?

Are the herbicides that BGE uses to control vegetation safe for people, pets, animals, and the environment?
Yes. BGE requires its contractors to use only EPA-approved products. They also require their contractors to be licensed by the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) for pesticide applications.
Can I apply for more than one position at a time?
Yes, you can apply for more than one position at a time.
Are the herbicide crews trained and professional
Yes. The contract companies are licensed and regulated by the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) and their certified applicators must attend annual certification classes to maintain their certification.
What is smart grid ?
An electric grid is the system of meters, poles, and wires that delivers electricity to you. “Smart grid” is the term used to describe a modernization of these systems by adding two-way communications and more sensors to manage this system more efficiently. The new metering system that is part of smart grid will provide significantly more information about customers’ energy consumption, which will allow utilities to offer new pricing programs, and energy conservation tips and other services to help customers reduce energy use and lower bills.
How long do herbicides last before they need to be reapplied?
In Central Maryland, herbicides are usually effective up to 5 years before re-application is needed. The next application is usually more selective since the number of undesirable trees is less.
Do you offer internships?
Yes, all of our internship opportunities are posted on our career website.
Will my submitted application be considered for other open positions?
Yes, your resume will be added to our database and will be considered.
What kind of benefits do you offer?
Of course, the paycheck is only part of a complete compensation and benefits package. Depending on your personal circumstances, other rewards may be just as important to you. So we offer a package of benefits to fit your unique needs and lifestyle.
Are all plans affected by the herbicides BGE uses?
Not necessarily - some of the herbicides are selective to targeting certain plants for control while preserving the desirable plants.
