The following information details the requirements necessary for customers who want to be or are supplied at BGE's primary service voltages (13 kV or 33 kV). Whether you are installing new service entrance equipment, adding to existing service or modernizing an existing service we want to guide you through the process.

Service-Requirements.jpgPlease note the following requirements that may affect your service date:

  • A complete set of site drawings, electrical drawings and an electrical specification must be submitted for approval. A stamped set will be returned to you upon request.
  • Three sets of equipment manufacturer's drawings must be submitted for approval. A stamped set will be returned to you upon request.
    BGE’s comments will be provided to you approximately four weeks from each of the drawing submittal dates.
  • It takes a minimum of five, and possibly up to ten, business days to plan and arrange for outages at a primary supplied facility.
  • A 'Certificate of Electrical Inspection' by the local authority will be required before a cut-in will be arranged.
  • A 'Certified Test Report' from an independent testing agency will be required before a cut-in will be arranged.
  • These requirements are in addition to any and all requirements as detailed in the Customer Information Manual.
