Wind. Ice. Lightning. These and other unexpected forces interrupt your energy supply from time to time. Here’s where you can learn how to prepare for these outages and what BGE is doing to get your home up and running again.

Power outages can be caused by a number of factors, but most common are weather-related events such as thunderstorms, ice storms, heavy winds, and lightning strikes, as well as other natural disasters like floods, hurricanes, or tornadoes.
When your power goes out unexpectedly, call BGE’s toll free number 877.778.2222 right away. Once the outage is reported, BGE crews will be mobilized as quickly and safety as possible to assess the situation.

Don’t assume that BGE knows when your power is out. Call 877.778.2222 immediately.
