Since our founding nearly 200 years ago, BGE has played an integral role in working with Maryland communities to address economic development, public safety, civic issues and other initiatives that help improve our neighborhoods and communities.

Together with our customers, we actively partner with organizations that work to improve the quality of life in the communities where we live and work. We believe that BGE’s success is closely linked with the overall success of the community.
We focus our funding on programs that will deliver measurable and sustainable impact in the following areas:  
Education Icon 
Education: We support programs that encourage students of all ages to work hard and develop skills  which will help them contribute to the future growth and success of our society.
Environment Icon 
Environment: Programs that protect the quality of our environment are essential to our customers  and employees. Partnering with organizations that support conservation, preservation and energy efficiency, we work to promote environmental stewardship.
Community Development Icon 
Community Development: BGE is committed to programs that enrich community diversity and progress to improve living standards. We also support advances in safety and emergency management by working with first responders to provide the best community service. Emergency Responders Apply Here

Arts and Culture Icon 

Arts & Culture: We support arts and culture programs that contribute to the health and vitality of the BGE community. We celebrate the role that the arts play in the neighborhoods where we live and work.

Our Giving Guidelines 

  1. BGE will only award grants to certified nonprofit organizations in the communities where our employees and customers live and work

  2. BGE only provides grants to 501c3 organizations, not individuals

  3. Qualified organizations must not discriminate based on religion, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation

  4. Organizations must NOT have received a grant from Exelon or any other subsidiaries within the past 12 months
