BGE’s support for the Anne Arundel County Hiker/Biker Trail's Right Tree/Right Place project is demonstration of our commitment to environmental stewardship.
Part of our Right Tree/ Right Place initiative, the project plants trees and shrubs along the trail to replace trees that were incompatible with power lines and caused tree-related outages during winter storms. "This project exemplifies our commitment to service reliability and safety. It's a perfect example of how BGE balances reliability and environmental stewardship," said Steve Brooks, a facility coordinator with BGE’s Forestry & Right-of-Way Management Unit. The two million visitors to the trail each year now enjoy a safer, more beautiful environment, said Dave Dionne, superintendent of trails and greenways for Anne Arundel County. "Customers have better suited trees and shrubs on their property along the trail, and improved service reliability," he said. “And Anne Arundel County is the beneficiary of BGE's hard work."
