Electric Heat Pumps

A great choice for home heating
The heat pump is the best choice for heating your home. Ideally suited for our region, where winters are relatively mild and the average temperature during the heating season is about 45 degrees Fahrenheit, the heat pump is the most practical and economical way to keep your home warm and comfortable. Heat pumps are energy efficient and cost less to run than other conventional heating systems. With your new heat pump, you'll be able to maintain the desired comfort level in your home while saving on your monthly energy bill.

Energy Saving Tips
What can you do to control your heating costs and assure optimum performance?

  • Heating Unit- High efficiency heat pumps reduce heating costs up to 50% (over a heating season) compared to similar equipment that is 10-15 years old. Consider replacing an old, inefficient heat pump with a high efficiency model.
  • Thermostat Setting - Set the thermostat and leave it alone. You may wish to install a programmable thermostat designed specifically for a heat pump. This will help you to more efficiently regulate the temperature in your home.
  • Schedule a heat pump check-up - Regular maintenance by a qualified professional will ensure that your heat pump will operate at maximum efficiency.

A programmable thermostat not designed for a heat pump can cause the auxiliary heat to come on prematurely. This can offset any savings realized.

  • Filters - Clean or replace air filters monthly. Dirty filters impede air flow and increase operating costs up to 10%.
  • Air Vents - Make sure air vents and cold air returns are not blocked by furniture, drapes or other objects.
  • Outdoor Unit - Keep the outdoor unit free of debris. Make sure grass, weeds, shrubs or snow do not impede air flow. Never shut off power to the outdoor unit unless cleaning.
