The following information details the requirements necessary for customers who want to be or are supplied at BGE's primary service voltages (13 kV or 33 kV). Whether you are installing new service entrance equipment, adding to existing service or modernizing an existing service we want to guide you through the process.
Please be aware that there are some items of critical importance that may affect your service date:
- A complete set of site drawings, electrical drawings and an electrical specification must be submitted for approval. A stamped set will be returned to you upon request.
- Three sets of equipment manufacturer's drawings must be submitted for approval. A stamped set will be returned to you upon request.
- It will take approximately four weeks from each of the drawing submittal dates to receive our comments.
- It takes a minimum of five work days and possible as many as ten work days to arrange for outages at a primary supplied facility.
- A 'Certificate of Electrical Inspection' by the local authority will be required before a cut-in will be arranged .
- A 'Certified Test Report' from an independent testing agency will be required before a cut-in will be arranged.
- These requirements are in addition to any and all requirements as detailed in the Customer Information Manual.
