"The PSC created a working group and asked the parties to work together constructively to present solutions to the hardships faced by our customers in a manner that preserves the financial health of the utilities in this difficult economic climate.  As we are mindful of these hardships and committed to finding solutions, BGE has proactively developed some for consideration.  We look forward to presenting them to the parties and the Maryland Public Service Commission.  Presently, winter restrictions on service terminations are in effect and provide protections to our customers.   The parties were asked to conclude their work and file a report with the Commission by not later than the day that those winter restrictions end.   Thus, we are hopeful that this matter will be resolved successfully and expeditiously."

Concerned about paying your bills

Need assistance paying bills
The Maryland Office of Home Energy Programs has a number of programs designed to help people pay their energy bills. The amount of assistance depends on the type of heating fuel, household size, yearly energy usage and income. For example, a family of four earning $25,572 or less qualifies for energy assistance. To apply, call toll free 1-800-352-1446.  And ask for information about Maryland’s Weatherization Assistance Program, which helps qualified households take steps to reduce their energy consumption.
