When your power goes out, BGE will mobilize crews to restore it as quickly as possible. But do not assume we automatically know. Call BGE’s toll free number 1-877-778-2222 right away. The use of this exclusive number to report an outage should mean faster service for you.

The number connects you to an automated phone system, where BGE pinpoints your location by matching it with your phone number. So, if your power goes out, you can notify us immediately - any day, any hour.

• After an initial greeting, you'll be directed to select the appropriate option to report a power outage at your home or business.
  
• You will then be prompted to enter your telephone number or 10-digit BGE account number.
  Outages can be reported more quickly this way, and receive the same priority as calls made directly to customer care representatives.

The sooner you act, the sooner we can mobilize resources to restore your power. So the instant your service is interrupted, call 1-877-778-2222 right away. Then we'll know immediately whose power needs to be restored.

Should a storm cause widespread severe damage to our system, our crews will have to physically assess the damage before we can give an estimated restoration time.

Be Safe with Downed Wires

Always call 410-685-0123 or 1-800-685-0123 outside the Baltimore Metropolitan area to report unsafe conditions such as wires down. Avoid damaged or downed wires, trees, and standing water. Keep pets and children away from them as well. Always assume downed lines are energized. If you see a downed wire, do not attempt to get close to it, much less move it. If possible, advise others to stay away as well.
