BGE’s PeakRewards program is designed to help our customers and to help ease the “peak” demand for electricity in the Mid-Atlantic region. Natural Gas Connection Program
Switching from electric to natural gas can make your home more comfortable, while reducing your energy costs. Now is a great time to make the switch, because through December 15, 2014, the fee to connect your home to the main gas line may be waived—a value up to $2,000, based on your home’s proximity to the gas line. Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is now administering The EmPOWER Maryland Low Income Energy Efficiency Program (LIEEP).This program helps income qualified customers with installation of energy conservation materials in their homes. The program may provide the following improvements to make your home safer, healthier and more energy efficient:
- Insulation in the attic, floors and walls
- Hot water system improvements
- Lighting retrofits
- Furnace cleaning, tuning and safety repairs
- Refrigerator retrofit, if applicable
- Health and safety items.
