Heating and Cooling
You can save with rebates from BGE’s Smart Energy Savers Program. Heating and air conditioning (HVAC) account for up to 50% of the energy used at home. BGE’s PeakRewards program is designed to help our customers and to help ease the “peak” demand for electricity in the Mid-Atlantic region. When you participate in the program, you will be helping to reduce the likelihood of power outages. BGE Smart Energy Rewards is a voluntary program that helps you earn credits on your summer electricity bills. The program is available to BGE residential customers with smart meters installed before June 1, 2013. Read more

Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is now administering The EmPOWER Maryland Low Income Energy Efficiency Program (LIEEP).This program helps income qualified customers with installation of energy conservation materials in their homes. The program may provide the following improvements to make your home safer, healthier and more energy efficient:
- Insulation in the attic, floors and walls
- Hot water system improvements
- Lighting and refrigerator retrofits, if applicable
- Furnace cleaning, tuning and safety repairs
- Health and safety items.
