BALTIMORE, MD (Feb. 22, 2022) – 61 area nonprofit organizations are receiving over $250,000 in BGE Emergency Response and Safety Grants. The grant recipients are located throughout the BGE service area in nine Maryland counties and Baltimore City. BGE is committed to improving the quality of life for people in the communities where we live, work, and serve, and the Emergency Response and Safety Grants program is an important part of that commitment. First responders are our customers and our neighbors, they risk their lives every day and BGE is grateful for their service and honored to support them in their selfless mission.

This is the tenth year for the program which supports nonprofit emergency response and public safety organizations throughout BGE's service area. To date, BGE has provided more than $3 million to 594 emergency response programs. Previous recipients have used the grants for emergency equipment upgrades including thermal imaging cameras, fire hose replacements, and first aid stations.
