BALTIMORE (March 5, 2014) – Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) is pleased to announce several key appointments and promotions in the company’s regulatory and external affairs area, the division focused on governmental and legislative affairs, communications and corporate relations for the central Maryland company.
Valencia McClure has been named director of communications and corporate relations, responsible for strategic communications and media relations as well as BGE’s charitable giving and volunteer activities. McClure comes to the utility from parent company Exelon, where she led the communications and outreach function for Exelon Power, the company’s fossil, hydroelectric, wind and solar generation operations.
John Quinn, formerly the co-director of the merger integration environmental team for BGE has been named director of state affairs. Quinn’s 23-year tenure with the company also included managing the corporate sustainability reporting efforts.
Joining Quinn to advocate for BGE’s key issues in Annapolis will be Misty Allen, manager, state affairs and Allyson Black, state affairs manager. Allen most recently served as vice president, asset management for GenOn Energy. Black joins BGE from the Maryland State Department of Human Resources, where she was the executive director of the Office of Government, Corporate and Community Affairs.
BGE also announces the promotion of Ammanuel Moore to economic development manager. Moore was previously BGE’s senior e-channel program manager, spearheading the company’s social media efforts. In Moore’s new role, he will work on initiatives to encourage new business in Maryland.
