BGE Announces Key Senior Leadership Appointments

BALTIMORE (April 22, 2016) – BGE has announced a senior leadership promotion and three new appointments to the company’s executive leadership team. David Vahos, formerly BGE’s chief financial officer (CFO) and treasurer, has been promoted to senior vice president, CFO and Treasurer. Vahos will oversee all financial functions for the company, including financial planning and analysis and the treasury. In the past 18 years, Vahos has held a number of leadership roles within finance at BGE and Constellation Energy. He joined BGE’s executive leadership team in 2012 as vice president and controller.

BGE’s executive leadership team also includes three new members who have joined the company from across the Exelon business.

Derrick Dickens is the company’s vice president of technical services, responsible for developing strategy for a number of operational functions including distribution engineering, electric system reliability, project management and vegetation management. Dickens is also responsible for BGE’s smart grid system, including smart meters and the related upgraded system capabilities. Dickens joins BGE from the company’s sister utility PECO in Philadelphia, where he was the director of advanced meter infrastructure.

Andrew Holmes has been appointed BGE’s vice president and controller. In this role, he is responsible for accounting and ensuring the accurate reporting of BGE’s financial information to state and federal regulatory bodies. Holmes joins BGE from Exelon Generation, where he most recently served as director of accounting.

Michael Menendez is BGE’s vice president of Information Technology (IT), responsible for leading the company’s IT operations and transformational programs. Menendez previously served as IT director for Exelon Utilities, responsible for defining the strategic direction for technology implementations across all of the corporation’s utilities.
