BGE is grateful for the prompt and skilled response by Baltimore's first responders and our thoughts and prayers remain with those injured and their families. BGE continues to canvass the Bayard Street area in Baltimore City to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our gas infrastructure. We are also progressing through our investigation process into the cause of the incident that occurred on November 22.
As always, immediate reporting of any gas odors or issues is critical to public safety. If you suspect a gas leak or have any gas concerns where you live or work, get to a safe location and report it to BGE immediately by calling (877) 778-7798 or by calling 911. BGE will respond 24 hours a day to investigate and make the situation safe. For non-gas leak concerns, please call (800) 685-0123. Statement on Nov. 22, 2022 at 6:15 p.m.
BGE is on the scene of an incident at 1121 Bayard Street in Baltimore City. BGE turned off service to 1121 and 1123 Bayard and remains onsite to assist Baltimore City first responders. Once the location is deemed safe for access, we will assist Baltimore City Fire Department in its investigation as to the cause of the incident. BGE completed upgrades in November to the gas main that services the 1100 block of Bayard Street.
