BGE Celebrates Utility Workers on National Lineworker Appreciation Day

Each Exelon utility – Atlantic City Electric, BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco salute efforts of company workers

BALTIMORE (July 8, 2016) – In celebration of National Lineworker Appreciation Day, BGE salutes the men and women who work tirelessly, day-in and day-out, to provide safe and reliable energy services to customers across the region. BGE celebrates its more than 1,000 utility workers who operate and maintain natural gas and electric systems and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, often in challenging conditions, and on weekends and holidays to keep the lights on and the natural gas flowing for customers.

“We truly appreciate our dedicated, skilled employees and thank them for their hard work and commitment to our customers,” said Stephen J. Woerner, BGE president and chief operating officer. “Their tireless efforts continue to deliver outstanding results for customers, including continued outstanding performance in several reliability measures and, most importantly, a ceaseless dedication to doing every job safely.”

To honor the nation’s lineworkers, a resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives designating July 10, 2016, as National Lineworker Appreciation Day. BGE joins energy companies across the nation, including Exelon sister utilities Atlantic City Electric, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco, in honoring all utility workers – both on the lines and in the field.

Join energy companies nationwide in saying thank you by using the hashtag #thankalineworker on social media. Connect with BGE on Facebook and follow us on Twitter, YouTube and view photos of BGE field employees on Flickr.
