BGE Salutes Utility Workers on National Lineman Appreciation Day

Each Exelon utility – BGE, ComEd and PECO salute efforts of company workers

BALTIMORE (March 31, 2015) – March 31 marks National Lineman Appreciation Day, established in 2013 to honor the men and women who work day-in and day-out to provide safe and reliable service to customers. Today, BGE salutes its more than 1,000 utility workers, who operate and maintain natural gas and electric systems and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, often in challenging conditions, and on weekends and holidays, to serve our customers. To honor the nation’s line workers, a resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives designating March 31, 2015, as National Lineman Appreciation Day.

"We thank our dedicated, skilled employees for their hard work and commitment to our customers,” said Stephen J. Woerner, BGE president and chief operating officer. “Their tireless efforts continue to deliver outstanding results for customers, including BGE’s best-ever performance in several reliability and safety measures last year.”

BGE salutes all of our utility workers – both on the lines and in the field. Join utilities nationwide in saying thank you by using the hashtag #thankalineman on social media. Connect with BGE on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and view photos of BGE field employees on Flickr.
