As of 7:45 p.m., all BGE customers impacted by Winter Storm Elliott that began December 23, 2022, have now been restored.
BGE appreciates customers' patience as crews and contractors worked around the clock to restore service as safely and quickly as possible. The December 23 storm impacted more than 112,000 BGE customers, resulting in more than 1,500 repair jobs. Throughout the restoration of the storm, approximately 1000 additional external contractors assisted with restoration.

All BGE customers impacted by severe weather on December 23 are either restored or crews are currently on-site completing restoration work.
Most outages were caused by strong winds knocking down trees and tree limbs. BGE crews, contractors, and mutual assistance resources continue to work to restore service as safely and quickly as possible to customers who experienced outages throughout the weekend.

The storm impacted more than 100,000 BGE customers, resulting in more than 1,500 repair jobs. Due to extensive damage and challenging restoration conditions, we anticipate the restoration process for some customers to continue through this weekend. BGE remains in full storm mobilization and is continuing its all-hands response. Throughout the restoration of the storm, we will have nearly 500 additional external contractors to assist with restoration.

BGE continues to work to restore system damage from Winter Storm Elliott. Most outages have been caused by strong winds knocking down trees and tree limbs. BGE crews and contractors are working around the clock to assess the damage and restore power as safely and quickly as possible.
As of 9 p.m. we have restored service to nearly 54,000 customers, and 46,000 customers remain without power. The latest outage information, including total number and general locations, is available on the BGE.com outage map.
Due to extensive damage, we anticipate the restoration process will be a multi-day event. BGE is in full storm mobilization. Winter Storm Elliott is an all-hands response event for the company. BGE is securing nearly 250 external personnel through mutual assistance, adding to the increased company crews and external crews already supporting restoration efforts. This additional assistance was made available by BGE’s sister utility ComEd after the storm passed through the Midwest. Crews are staging at the Timonium Fairgrounds and BWI Airport.

Trees and tree limbs knocked down by strong, sustained winds on Friday have damaged electric equipment throughout BGE's service area. BGE crews and contractors are working to restore power for customers as safely and quickly as possible. In advance of adverse weather, BGE made plans to increase staffing and secured additional external crews. These extra resources are now fully deployed to assist in widespread restoration efforts.
As of 2:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, nearly 65,000 customers are without service, representing hundreds of restoration jobs in locations across central Maryland. The latest outage information, including total number and general locations, is available on the BGE.com outage map.
We appreciate customers' patience and understanding as we work to restore their service in the wake of this storm.
Downed power lines: reporting and safety
As a reminder, fallen overhead power lines should never be approached or touched even if the lines do not appear to be live or sparking. Immediately call BGE at 877-778-2222 to report the downed wire. If an overhead wire falls across your vehicle while you are driving, stay inside the vehicle and continue to drive away from the line. If the engine stalls, do not leave your vehicle, and warn others not to touch the vehicle or the wire. Call emergency services immediately.
